Emily Bosh Garner: President
My name is Emily Bosh Garner and my role is President.
Savannah Camplin: Vice President
Favorite Book: The Brothers K by David James Duncan
Favorite thing about Ferndale Library: I love the the puzzles!
I joined friends because I grew up going to the library and have always been a library fanatic and I wanted to get more involved in supporting my local library!
Karen Khalifah: Secretary
My name is Karen Khalifah and my current role is the Secretary for the Friends. I’ve been a fan of the library ever since I moved to the area, and have been involved with the Friends on and off for about 5 years. My favorite thing about the Ferndale Library is the book clubs! You can usually find me reading Graphic Novels.
Rachel Kollin Chavez: Treasurer
My name is Rachel Kollin Chavez and I serve as the Friends of the Ferndale Library Treasurer. I love everything libraries stand for- community support, access to information and resources, and more! My favorite books are The Ornithologist’s Field Guide to Love by India Holton and Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë.
June Axelrad: Bookstore Chair
I’m June Axelrad and I’ve been chair of the Friends bookstore for about 15 years. When I am not volunteering at the bookstore, I volunteer at the zoo.
My favorite all time book ( and the movie is also exquisite,) is To Kill a Mockingbird. I am also a big fan Luis Alberto Urrea and Barbara Kingsolver.

I’m a retired FADL librarian, and past president of the Friends.
One of my favorite library resources is Hoopla, because I’ve found a lot of obscure music to stream.
